My Thoughts on Amendment One

So I know that I have not done one of these in a while because my school schedule has been keeping me busy since it is ending the semester. But on May 8th North Carolina residents are voting on a BIG topic... Amendment One. Amendment one states  "Constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State." There are other parts to the amendment that will not allow unmarried couples to have certain right such as:
•Domestic violence protections for unmarried couples.
•Child custody rights of domestic partners that further the best interests of the child.
•Could prevent state from passing in the future:
–Right to family hospital visitation privileges.
–Right to make medical decisions if partner is incapacitated.
–Right for domestic partners to make funeral and burial arrangements for one another.
–Right to inherit from one another if they die without a will.
–Right to be named guardian or conservator if one partner becomes incapacitated.

As I have said on my facebook page: So when people put that they are FOR Amendment One they get cussed out but when someone puts they are against it and someone who is for it comments then that person that commented gets cussed out. Guess what people everyone has THEIR OWN opinion and by living in the United States we have FREEDOM OF SPEECH and its not going to change their mind if you are cussing them out!

So here is MY view on the matter:

Gay Marriage:
I have been brought up in a Christian family and have set my morals to be those that are set forth in the Bible (if anyone has an opposition to this please feel free to comment and to be clear I am not saying that I am perfect we do all sin) so when I see this amendment as allowing gay marriage I know that in the Bible it says "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them" (Leviticus 20:13) so I am sticking to what I believe and going to vote FOR  the Amendment.

Domestic Violence:
First off as I have said in an earlier post I believe that if there is violence within a relationship whether it be verbal or physical you need to get out. I'm not saying that I believe that just because you are unmarried you shouldn't have the same protection as a married person but you can leave that person and there is not a process you have to go through to leave that person. Even though you are not married to them you can still get a restraining order.

Child Custody Rights:
In North Carolina custody is most of the time granted to the Mother of the child even when it may not be in the best interest of a child.

Medical:
In my opinion I believe that if you are not married then the person you are dating should not have a choice in your medical health. If you want them to have a right in the decisions why not just go to the courthouse and get married it only cost around $60 for the licenses and a little extra for the magistrate. If your reason for not getting married is that you can't trust the person enough then why would you trust them to make medial decisions about you?

So theses are my thoughts on why I voting FOR the Amendment One! If you would like to leave a comment  be free to and I am up to talk about it in more depth if needed :)

FEARS!

All of us have fears right? Well some of mine are what i would consider normal and some not so normal so here they are and why!

1. Floss! This is one of my not so normal fears. I have always been afraid of floss ever since I can remember. I have really tight teeth and it is so hard to get floss in between them. I am scared that it is going to get stuck and I am not going to be able to get it out. Resulting in me having to go to the dentist and having it taken out. Yes I know I am weird!

2. Mud! It really is not a fear its just I do not like the feel of it and if I have it on me I instantly have to find a way to wash it off. Just the grimmy nasty feeling of it is disgusting.

3. Letting people down! I am afraid that I am going to let those that I love down in some way. I try my hardest to please everyone that is in my life and I hope that I never let them down.

4. Not Succeeding! I am afraid that I will not succeed in my future. I have worked so hard in the past 4 years to get my degree but I am scared that I will not find a job and be able to do the things I want to.

So that is my main fears that I have and most likely I always will (especially the floss lol).

If you want to know anything else or want to tell me yours just leave a comment :)

Life :)

So this weekend was really good. Friday I went around and put my resume out there and sent my resume to Corporate so hopefully something happens. Saturday I went with my friend shopping for bridesmaids dresses for her wedding :) then went fishing with my boyfriend and his friends which was an experience. I got my car stuck on a hump in the middle of the field and then almost couldnt get out because of the cows. But I have begun to realize that graduation is just around the corner so I have been thinking about things I want to do in my life. So here is a list :)

1. Get a good Job! I want to get a good paying job with my degree so that in the future I will be able to support myself and be able to do the things I want without having to worry.

2. Travel! I want to travel to so many places which is why I want to have a good job, I would like to travel to New York City, Paris, England, and the Bahamas.

3. Get a Jeep! I want to eventually get a Jeep Grand Cherokee and have it painted pink. Which will take money so I need that good paying job.

4. Get my masters degree!

5. Have a family. I do not mean anytime soon because I want to be financially stable meaning that I know I can support myself and kids that I may have. I believe that if you have children then you should think about if you will be able to support them before making the move to have children.

6. Be Happy :) - I want to be happy with who I am and what I have done in life. I want to be with those that make me happy and make memories with :)

Music!

So I have realized that most radio stations do not really play that much music in the mornings and afternoons which makes me happy that I have a 12 disc changer in my car. I do love listening to Channel 96.1 in the mornings to listen to Ace & TJ (they are hilarious...if you've never listened to them you should)  on my hour ride to school but on the way home  I always end up listening to CD's. The other day while driving home I realized that I have a very wide range of music in my CD player. So here are the CD's/Artist that I have in there right now and one of the songs I like on the CD:

1. Saving Able- Missisippi Moonshine
2. 3oh3- House Party
3. Down With Webster- Whoa is Me
4. Uncle Kracker- Smile
5. Corey Smith- Carolina, Maybe Next Year ( I really cant decied on just one from him)
6. Bruno Mars- Grenenade
7. Enrique Iglesias- I like it
8. Nickelback- This means war or Bottoms Up
9. Lil Wayne Carter 3- Pretty much any...Ms. Carter, Lollipop etc...
10. Lonely Island- The Creep, Pirates of the Carriabean
11. A mixed CD with country and Rap on it
12. Jake Owen- I'll go anywhere with you

Depending on the mood that I am in I always have something to listen to. So if you have not heard one of the artist you should check them out on youtube you may like them you may not!

ME :)

Since I am writing this blog I guess I should tell you a little about me. So here is a list of a few things about me!

1. I will be graduating May 2012 from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with my Bachelors of Science- Accounting. I started my freshman year at Western Carolina University majoring in Athletic Training but realized it was not for me and decided I would rather be closer to home so I transferred to UNCC.

2. I am now on my 3rd car! I totaled my first car in a wreck. I love the car I have now which is a Camaro. I have always wanted one and it is AWESOME!! My other dream car is a Jeep Grand Cherokee and I want it to be pink :)

3. My fave color is PINK!!! I pretty much have something on that has pink on it or my nails are painted pink.

4. Continuing from #3 I do my own nails. I do not see any point in going out and paying $25 to get someone else to paint them when I can do them at home with an $8 bottle of nail polish and get so many uses out of it (but i never use the whole bottle...does anyone?). I love doing creative designs and I get complimented on them and people can not believe I do them myself. The only time I could see paying to get them done is on special occasions such as being in a wedding or formal dances.

5. I LOVE Nicholas Sparks books!!!!! And movies!!! I have 14 out of 17 of his books! The reason I do not have his other three books is because I saw the movies before I started reading his books. Next time he comes to Charlotte (or anywhere close) I am going to a book signing! I really do not know which one of his books is my fave because they are soooooo good! If you have not read any of them you need too! I would suggest reading any of them but be prepared to cry!

6. I love flip flops! My favorite kind are the 2 for $5 from Old Navy beacause they have every color and I love matching them with my outfits.

7. The beach is my favorite vacation place. I have gone to Myrtle Beach every year since I was I think 1. There is so much to do there and it so relaxing.  One day I would love to own a house at the beach!

8. I do still live at home even though I am 21 years old but I am still in college. My parents are the greatest because they are supportive and have taught me a lot.  I have a brother that is almost ten years younger than me which is a good thing because if he would have been born closer to me there would not have been the technology that he needed for his open heart surgeries. He may annoy me sometimes but I love him :)

9. I am a Baptist. I was baptised when I was 6 years old. I got saved at South Mountain Baptist Camp. Like I said in my earlier post I do not get to make it to church every Sunday because I work but the values that I have learned being a Baptist have made me who I am today and I would not change a thing.

10. I have been dating the most AMAZING guy for over three years! Most people think that we met at work but we actually met through friends. Yes we do work at the same place but that happened by chance when I got transferred to the store he worked at when the store I worked at closed. He is always there for me when I need it and he is the sweetest, most polite, hilarious, handsome, and creative guy. <3

So if you want to know anything else about me just leave a comment and I will either answer it as a comment or make it another blog topic! Or if you want to know my thoughts on any other topic leave it as a comment and I will answer!!!

Relationships :)

So i have been thinking about doing a blog for a while but could never figure out what i wanted to the topic to be about but lately I've realized there is a lot of times ill think of something I want to post on facebook but decide not to because i may offend someone. So this is going to be the place that I just lay it all out! The first topic that I have been thinking about lately is relationships. Not just dating relationships but also relationships with family, friends, and even religious. Ill start off with family and friend relationships. Being a full time student and working part time makes it really hard to make time to go out and do things on the spur of the moment so I'm sorry to those that I have not gotten to spend much time with over the past couple of years. Once I graduate in May I plan on being able to spend more time with my family and friends. I have realized lately the reason I am friends with the same people I have been with since high school. This reason is because they have been with me and understand my beliefs and respect them. I have made some new friends since high school that I know I can count on anytime I need them but I have also met people that can turn on you. So thank you to those that have been there for me :) Another relationship that I want to talk about is religious relationships. I know that I Do not go to church every Sunday but I do make it a priority to try and live my life in a Christian way. I have been told that I try to make myself look better than others and that im not the perfect person because I have done certain things. I have never told anyone that i think im perfect because I know I have sinned but you must also look at yourself before pointing fingers. I have also realized that I am greatful for the way my parents raised me by taking me to church every Sunday when I was growing up because it taught me the morals that I still hold true today. The last relationships I want to voice my opinion on is dating. I was lucky to meet my boyfriend over 3 years ago. I am so thankful that he agrees with my morals and that we see eye to eye on mostly everything. He is always there for me and supports my decisions. So thank you Chelsea for draging me to Hickory and thank you Justin for bringing John! I know some people do not have this kind of relationship...well actually they have the complete opposite. I believe that if you are in a relationship that seems one sided then in reality its not a relationship. Also I do not see how someone can be in an abusive relationship. If your bf/gf is being abusive do you really think he/she cares for you and your well being??? Also if he/she makes you change what you believe or who you hang/spend time with then there is something wrong because you need to be yourself not what someone whats you to be. They should love you for you. I'm not saying that if you are dating someone who is a drug addict or an alcholic that there is anything wrong with helping them stop, im talking about those people who make their bf/gf change everything about themselves. Another thing, if you keep having relationships that contunie going the same way you may want to take a break and look at yourself and see if there is a trend that you are causing. So in the end I believe that you should have a healthy relationship were each person is themselves and you should be supportive of each other. Also you need to have friends and family that support you and that are there for you. To have these things I believe you need to find YOURSELF because there is only one of you! "Compromising doesn't mean that your wrong and someone is right, it only means that you value your RELATIONSHIP much more than your ego"
